Mountain Trails Junior Herbalist Program
The Mountain Trails Junior Herbalist Certification Program is a six class educational program designed to introduce students to the foundational principles of herbalism through hands on learning, observation, and practical application.
Throughout the program, students will learn how herbalists identify plants, understand herbal categories, recognize seasonal plant availability, and create a variety of herbal preparations including teas, poultices, infused oils, salves, and glycerites. Students will also develop skills in harvesting, drying, and properly storing herbs while gaining a deeper appreciation for the plants growing around them.
Classes are held monthly and are designed to build upon one another. Enrollment in the certification program guarantees students a reserved place in each of the six required classes.
All materials and supplies required for the six class certification program are included in the enrollment fee, including herbs, class handouts, take-home projects, and materials needed for hands-on activities and herbal preparations.
If a student is unable to attend a class in person, a digital learning option will be provided. Participation in the digital lesson and completion of any required assignments is necessary in order to receive credit for that class and remain eligible for certification.
Upon successful completion of all six required classes and the Junior Herbalist Challenge, students will receive their:
Certified Junior Herbalist Certificate from the Mountain Trails Wellness Studio.
